VM Finance Group Acquires ALTA’s Private Label Brand Portfolio

VM Finance Group has acquired the portfolio of private label brands owned by distribution company ALTA, further strengthening its position in the fast-moving consumer goods sector.

The transaction includes more than 250 private label brands, together with the company’s know-how and commercial operations, as well as a 100% stake in the Romanian entity Alta International SRL, providing direct access to the Romanian market.

"The transaction with ALTA will ensure continuity and create opportunities for the brands to continue their development within a larger organisation such as VM Finance Group, with a clear strategic focus on their growth. This acquisition forms part of the Group’s long-term objective of achieving sustainable growth in the FMCG sector," said Alexandra Mircheva, Chief Executive Officer of VM Finance Group.

Expanding a Portfolio of Established Consumer Brands

Through the acquisition, VM Finance Group has obtained the portfolio of well-established brands across several product categories, including:

  • OCEAN, NEPTUN and ELABO – canned fish, fish fillets and pâtés;
  • DEL ALMA and CAMPESE – olive and vegetable oils, vinegars, olives, fruit and vegetable preserves, and spreads;
  • JUNGLE – pet food and pet care products;
  • MIMOSA – household and hygiene products.

The management of the brands, together with their marketing and commercial activities, has been integrated into the Food Division of Avendi, while logistics operations are supported by Movio Logistics, also part of VM Finance Group.

Strategic Rationale

The acquisition represents a natural step in VM Finance Group’s strategy to expand its FMCG portfolio and strengthen its market presence. Key strategic objectives include:

Expanding the Group’s portfolio with established and recognised brands in complementary categories;
Creating operational synergies through the integration of commercial teams;
Optimising costs and increasing efficiency across the value chain;
Leveraging existing logistics capabilities and infrastructure;
Accelerating geographic expansion through direct access to the Romanian market.

The transaction marks a significant expansion of VM Finance Group’s presence in the FMCG sector, reinforcing the Group’s position in Bulgaria and supporting its growth ambitions across the wider region.
